Dr. Altaz Shajani
Dr. Shajani acquired Lynn Valley Optometry in 2001, moving us to our current location in 2007. With a highly trained team and award winning optometry practice, he strives to go beyond “20/20.” He is relentless in his pursuit to provide a world class eye care facility with leading edge vision care, exclusive products and treatment services and excellent customer service.
Dr. Shajani’s expertise in developmental optometry has inspired thousands of people to improve their vision and enhance their lives. His holistic approach to eye therapy includes vision therapy, integrated visual learning, movement and vestibular stimulation, colour therapy and nutrition. He founded the iTherapyTM center to help children and adults with learning related vision problems, eye alignment problems, brain injuries, and more. He is passionate about helping children to love reading by teaching them to think visually.
He graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and attained his Doctor of Optometry degree with Honours from the New England College of Optometry in 1999. He is actively involved in the community, often speaking to schools about learning related vision problems, and occasionally volunteering for third world eye care missions to Mexico.

Dr. Nav Sodhi
Dr. Sodhi was born and raised in Burnaby. He began his education at Burnaby North Secondary and completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Simon Fraser University with a major in Cell and Molecular Biology and a minor in Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology. Afterwards, he moved to Boston to complete optometry school at the prestigious New England College of Optometry. During his time in Boston he received clinical and academic honours, and is an active member of the Beta Sigma Kappa international honours society. He completed his clinical rotations in Ocular Disease and Primary Care in Minneapolis, Miami, Beverly Hills and Long Island with a wide variety of well-respected ophthalmologists and optometrists.
Dr. Sodhi strives to provide the best care for every patient that he sees, and he enjoys sharing his knowledge with both patients and fellow team members. In his spare time, Dr. Sodhi enjoys playing and watching sports, travelling, cooking, biking and staying active outdoors. He also is a long-time volunteer with the Burnaby Special Olympics and is always excited to return to coaching basketball every year.
Dr. Mindy Blumberg is from Thunder Bay, completing her optometry degree at the University of Waterloo. She completed clinical rotations at Harbourview Optometry in Thunder Bay, the Whistler Eye Clinic, and The Eye Foundation of Utah in Salt Lake City. Mindy has also volunteered on an eye care mission in Honduras, which helped 500 Hondurans get valuable eye care and glasses. Mindy is passionate about training specific visual systems to improve athletic and academic success. She brings expertise on post-concussion vision rehabilitation, silicone hydrogel multifocal contact lens fittings and technology, and dry eye therapy.
Mindy grew up alpine ski racing and has a special interest in sports vision. She helps with performance vision training with the Canadian Ski Cross and the BC Alpine Ski Team. In her spare time, what DOESN’T she get up to? Skiing, mountain biking, hiking, rafting – Mindy is a true mountain woman at heart.
